Misaki's good Friend and one of the few female students at Seika High, Sakura is friendly and cheerful and, like the rest of the girls,Sakura also relies on Misaki for protection from the wild behaviour of the boys. She is quite popular amongst the boys, but frequently rejects their confessions; in particular, she’s rejected ex-rugby captain Masaru Gouda (剛田将, Gōda Masaru?) one hundred times. According to Shizuko, Sakura falls in love without carefully considering what that person is really like, as exampled by her persistent feelings for the two-faced Kuuga who is a womanising singer of a the band Umemishi from a nearby high school.
In the anime's last episode it said that when Kuuga was in the hospital Sakura went to visit him and she said that he has changed since then.
Misaki Ayuzawa(美咲相沢 Misaki Ayuzawa) is the main protagonist of the series. She lives together with her motherand her younger sister, Suzuna. Her father abandoned them, leaving them with a huge debt, which causes Misaki to have had a deep hatred for most boys except the gentlemanly type but later she falls in love with Usui Takumiand becomes his girlfriend.[1]
Appearance
Misaki has straight brown hair( sometimes hintted purple) which she puts some on the sides of her face in . She has amber eyes and she doesn't wear makeup. She has a pale complexion and her weight and height are quite normal with an ample chest. Misaki is often noted for her bad fashion sense, which Aoi often says is not cute at all and boring. She buys cheap clothes due to her financial issues.
Personality
Her personality is one that's willing to help others and one that's very strong-willed. She detests boys and sometimes shouts at male students unreasonably, causing many boys to hate her. She feels responsible for keeping them in place so the girls of Seika High will feel comfortable and the girls also rely and depend on her to protect them from the hectic and rebellious attitudes from the boys. She became school president in order to restrain them. Even though she acts that way, Misaki really does care for the school and boys, sticking up for them when they got in trouble with someone from Miyaboayoka.
She devotes her time to two things: her part time job and studying. Misaki worries about her family and therefore works very hard to help in any way she can, giving up a lot of time earning money and limiting her budget on clothes and treats. She puts a lot of effort into studies and gets top grades in addition to her excellent athletic ability but is beaten by Usui, who achieved first place effortlessly.
Misaki gets hotheaded easily and retaliates with aggression in several situations such as when she feels embarrased around Usui and pushes him away. Misaki is very tsundere, which means that on the outside she is initially hostile and cruel but gradually, she shows a softer, warm side of herself. When she's with Usui, she has mixed feelings gets uneasy.
History
She goes to Seika high school, which only recently became co-ed. It was an all-boy's school only a few years ago. Because of this, the student body is 80% male and 20% female. Due to Misaki's hard work to become the student council president and create a safe environment for the girls, she gained the reputation as an uptight boy-hating dictator or demon president. Despite this tough-as-nails appearance, she secretly works part-time at a maid cafe in order to support her family. Her hard-earned reputation is threatened when the popular, attractive, and somewhat impassive Takumi Usui takes an interest in her after discovering her in a maid uniform after school. Misaki spent her childhood in the company of her sister Suzuna and childhood friend Shintani. Back then, as recounted by Shintani, she was incredibly gentle and sweet, admired by several children in her neighborhood. Her father left the Ayuzawa family with a huge debt when Misaki was in the second year of junior high, which started her boy-hating trend and worry for her sickly mother, Minako. Even though many of the male students fear and even hate her, the ones who get to know her come to see that she's actually very fair and willing to help anyone who needs it. She eventually becomes widely respected for her exceptional academic ability, her great athletic skill, and her many accomplishments as president. Students eventually start liking her as seen when she won the election for the student council president for the second time.
According to Misaki, she tried physical labour, but her body couldn't take it. As such, she was hired by Maid Latte's manager, Hyoudou Satsuki, and began secretly and reluctantly working as a maid. It was Misaki's exceptional academic ability and incredible sports progress that earned her the spot of Student Council President, which she uses to reform the school into a more girl-safe environment.
Even though she is considered as the "demon president" in her school due to her strict personality, people always find her cute when she smiles. In the begining of the series, she was more strict and serious with the guys in the school, however, after getting close to Usui and after making more close friends, Misaki becomes more open and often smiles which makes other people blush at her cuteness.
Misaki is always driven to do her best regardless of the endeavor and has a strong sense of justice, though she also has a tendency to forget her own well being in the process of helping others. Misaki harbours feelings towards Usui and often blushes when he's around her. Eventually, she realises her feelings for Usui, who in fact knows. She always says that she hates Usui, but it usually means she loves him. She is never honest about her feelings instead lying and acting violently whenever awkward moments are brought up and tries to hit Usui (which he often blocks or dodges). In Chapter 51, she attempts to confess her feelings to Usui, but gets interrupted thanks to a kiss from him. In Chapter 57, she finally confesses her feelings for Usui and they officially become a couple.
Usui is the first person to learn of Misaki's part-time job of working at Maid Latte.[2] He willingly keeps this secret from the rest of the school and is always helping and supporting her. He regularly tells her that he likes her, but she brushes it off as a joke or harrassment, calling him a Perverted Outer Space Alien. He kisses Misaki in episode 6 of the anime and, not knowing how to react, she avoids him until he kisses Yukimura. She assumes that he is just a "pervert" who would kiss anyone and things return to normal. However, there is no doubt that she gradually develops feelings for Usui, but refuses to acknowledge them until Shintani confesses his love for her. When Usui tells Kanou that he finds being together "troublesome," Kanou misinterprets it as Usui not being serious about Misaki. However, he later realizes that loving a girl and being in a relationship are two different things for Usui. Their relationship grows closer the more time goes on, such as their date in the park on Misaki's 17th birthday, September 29th.[3] She finally confesses her feelings for Usui and they officially become a couple on Christmas Day in Chapter 57. [4] At first, Misaki frets that her relationship will damage her reputation as school president but later reveals it to all of Seika High and her work colleagues at Maid Latte.
In recent chapters, Usui heads to England to cut ties with his family who want him to leave Japan to replace Gerard as the one to inherit the Walker family. Misaki, who is worried and concerned, goes after him with the aid of Tora Igarashi, and eventually finds him in the Walker family's castle.
His first appearance was not with Misaki. They met after Tora reviewed a file about Seika High School and its president. Soon after, he meets Misaki Ayuzawa when he comes to Seika High. Upon meeting her and noting her beauty, Tora is quick to kiss her hand and try to "woo" her. Tora praised her several times for how she ran Seika High. Seeming to have mixed feelings; looking forward to future dealings with Ayuzawa and an interest in her yet having an odd distaste towards her, he is not one to give a straight answer. Tora asks Misaki to join Miyabigaoka High School. Though she is hesitant, Tora assures her he will take care of the admission work. As she brings up her inability to pay the fees, he offers her a scholarship. He initially gives Misaki three days to decide, telling her that she has made Seika High a good school, and takes his le
ave. When Ayuzawa goes to Miyabigaoka to give her answer, a male with no name spills a drink on her causing her to need to change. However the only outfit available was a maid outfit. (On purpose by Tora who knew of her job.) He misunderstands that Misaki came to accept the offer, however, it was quite the opposite. He comments that Misaki is different from all the other girls around him who only want his money, and that he finds her actions quite interesting. Nevertheless, after his offer was rejected, Tora pins her down and tries to forcefully kiss her, until Usui, having defeated Tora's minions, comes to Misaki's rescue.
In the manga, Tora and Misaki's relationship becomes a lot closer because of his involvement with Usui's transfer to Miyabigaoka and trip to England. Tora is the one who prepares her and flies with her to England to meet Usui. Due to Chapter 76 it is hinted Tora has romantic feelings towards Misaki (even though he already has a fiancé) and Misaki is starting to become fond of Tora. He finds her interesting and her unusual reaction amuse him. After sharing a dance together, due to Misaki trying to learn to be a "lady", Tora expresses kindness to Misaki by also covering her with his jacket when she falls asleep. In Chapter 78, after Misaki asks why he's going so far to help, Tora confesses to her, saying "I see you as a woman and I like you," making her blush and push him away. He also catches her when she jumps off a balcony to escape from Cedric and others. Later, she's reunited with Usui who's bothered by Tora's relationship with her. He also knows about them sharing a dance and Tora's confession due to Maki (Tora's servant).
Shintani and Misaki were childhood friends, and Misaki regularly defended him from neighborhood bullies who would tease him because of his fatness. As such Shintani developed a long-standing crush on her, even coming back from his grandparents' farm to the city to search for her. He is now a slim because of the physical work he did at his grandparent's farm but still eats food even in class, causing Misaki to frequently confiscate his food and scold him, sparking jealously with Usui. The first time Misaki meets him after he transfers is after he "falls down from the sky", landing between Misaki and Usui, who are quarelling. When he admits his feelings for her, he hugs her saying that if she dislikes this then she can push him away to which Misaki replies that rather than hate she is troubled. He is accepting of her feelings, saying that he will wait for her.
However, in recent chapters, there are events where Suzuka (Misaki's little sister) seems to have romantic feelings for Shintani, who says he doesn't see her that way when asked by the envious Baka Trio.
Sakura and Misaki are good friends, and they often do things together along with Shizuko. Sakura is like a little sister to Misaki and has a childish personality. Misaki is very protective of her, knowing about her tendency to fall in love without considering what the person is really like, and her popularity with Seika High's male population. Sakura often gets curious about Misaki's love life and her relationship with Usui. She enjoys love talk and is affectionate towards Misaki in an admirable way.
Shizuko is another one of Misaki's good friends, who is in the flower arranging club along with Sakura. She is quiet and thoughtful. According to Sakura, she has a brother and sister in university and junior high, and that all three of them look alike, they also all wear glasses. Shizuko is often the one to tell Sakura off for making rash decisions and behaves maturely and logically like a mother. She is very strict and finds meeting strangers, attending concerts and going on trips a nuisance.
Ayuzawa Suzuna
Main article: Ayuzawa Suzuna Misaki's rather eccentric and apathetic sister. She is very passive and shows very little emotion. She is in middle school so she is unable to take a part-time job. Therefore, to help her mother and sister in terms of financial problems, she joins magazine contests and always tends to win food prizes. She also keeps tabs on shops that are about to have sales on certain items so they could buy it in a cheaper price. Unlike her sister, Suzuna also excels in cooking because Misaki was always working, which leaves Suzuna with making meals. She learnt some tips from their dad, Sakuya, who is a highly skilled chef.
In the manga, Suzuna goes to Seika High (as a student) and is favoured over Misaki among the boys. She is comfortable with Misaki and Usui and calls Usui "ones-chan's wife".
Misaki and Suzuna's mother. Misaki cares for her sickly mother very much, knowing her current condition. Her mother also worries about Misaki's happiness. Minako is very understanding and supportive of Misaki. She is carefree and constantly advises Misaki to relax, spending her youth doing "things a typical high school girl should be doing" like going on dates and buying clothes instead of studying and doing her part time job. In Chapter 47 of the manga, she encourages Misaki to accept the offer of going on a double date to the hot springs with Usui, Sakura and Kuuga, even after Misaki explains the expenses of the trip and that there will be boys. In the end, Misaki reluctantly goes on the trip.
Ayuzawa Sakuya
Ayuzawa Sakuya's First The main reason why Misaki resented boys at the first place was because of her father. It was said that Misaki and Suzuna's Father, Sakuya, abandoned his ownfamily when Misaki and Suzuna were still very young, leaving them a huge debt for them to deal with.
Both Misaki and Suzuna find a chef at the Maid-Café where Misaki works in. When Suzuna tasted the triangular-shaped rice balls made by him, she found the taste familiar and immediately asked to see the chef. When Suzuna finally got to the kitchen, everyone follows her to see if something was wrong, causing Sakuya to get nervous. As Suzuna continues her conversation with Misaki about the rice balls, Sakuya finally decided to reveal himself to them.[5]
The real reason why Sakuya left his family was to shoulder his friend's debt. Misaki's mother, who knew the truth, hid it from Misaki and Suzuna so that they would not worry waiting for their father. She, along with Misaki, refused to accept him back because he left them for too long and did not return.

UsuiTakumi(碓氷 拓海Usui Takumi) is the male lead of Kaichou wa Maid Sama and also, as of chapter 57, Misaki Ayuzawa's boyfriend. He is also the first person to find out Misaki's secret, but he kept quiet about it so that he is the only one who knew. When Misaki confronted him about this, he claims that it is his own private amusement, but the truth is that he was merely being respectful of the fact that she wanted to keep it hidden. He falls in love with Misaki, as becomes evident when he kisses her and confesses in episode 6, but is constantly being pushed away. He follows her around a lot, and never leaves or gives up on her even when she hits him or tells him, "I hate you". He is often referred to by Misaki as the "perverted outer-space alien". Usui has blond, spikey hair (which is actually surprisingly soft) and bright green eyes. He is one of the few blondes in the series, which most likely is because of his British heritage (he is one-quarter British). As seen in the series, he is very athletic, and is slender yet muscular. His height is 186 cm. He is very handsome, and most girls who see him fall for his looks instantly (resulting in many broken hearts). He is also very attractive to a lot of girls on the streets.
Personality
Usui, a silent but dangerous person, so mysterious yet only opened himself to Misaki. He is also a very popular boy in school because of his looks and talent. He is a very smart student, as well as being good at sports, and although very popular, he doesn't let it go to his head. On the contrary he seems to think the whole popularity-thing is rather troublesome (making him look even cooler). Most of the time, he has a nonchalant and indifferent attitude, but is always on the look-out for anything that may threaten or hurt Misaki, and he often saves her when she gets in trouble.
Usui is one of the best students in Seika High, excelling in most subjects and sports.Usui is incredibly talented and smart in studies. He often gets 1st Rank beating Misaki to second place(much to Misaki's initial annoyance). As stated by him: ranks are meaningless to him and he can always get the same Rank even if he does nothing about it. He grabs and understands concepts easily and even if he has a lot to learn, he can understand quite fast. If an equation is taught to him, he can figure out the rest by himself. He cares for Misaki and always helps her when she is in trouble(even if she says that she does not wants his help). He does not care about himself as long as it can help Misaki and even pushes himself off the limit.
He doesn't think twice about rejecting a girl's confession, something he seems to experience often, and Misaki is also unhappy about this as she views it as him "harassing" girls. He can also survive even after jumping from the school roof without protective gear, just to save the photo that contains the secret of Misaki being a maid. He excels in playing chess, the violin, cooking, formal table etiquettes as well as most sports, much to many people's surprise. He does not seem to do well with kids or animals. He is a quarter British and is able to speak English fluently, mostly using it to converse with his older brother or English relative, Maria Marizona. He once kissed Yukimura as a deliberate plan to stop Misaki feeling awkward and embarrassed around him after he stole her first kiss. This scene, as well as many others, prove the fact generally accepted by all the other characters that he does not really care about anything except Misaki.
Usui does not express any desire to sustain a long-term relationship with anybody, evident when Kanou asks him about it - he shaves off the question by saying dating is troublesome, which Kanou misinterprets as being that he wasn't serious about Misaki. However, later the two started dating. It is noted that he looks very similar to his brother, Gerard Walker, apart from the hair colour, to the point that most of the guests that visited him thought Gerard was Usui when he wore a blond wig. Usui's relationship with his family does not seem to be a good one. Usui claims that he is the type of guy that likes to stalk people (especially Misaki) and is always there for her whenever she is in trouble. Like most guys, he is awkward and not very good when it comes to expressing his feelings, so generally reverts to making perverted comments and references. The only times he expresses himself clearly are on several occasions when he confesses openly: "I love you, Ayuzawa" or when he expresses himself through actions such as kisses or tight hugs, which Misaki initially passes off as displays of bold sexual harrassment. When Misaki expresses curiousity about his background, Usui gives her the condition that if she kisses him, he will tell her everything. He actually wants attention and a kiss from Misaki but he did it in the perverted way because he doesn't know how to express it out in the proper way. From Maria ( Usui's relative who is trying to convince him to transfer to Miyabigoaka and at the same time also spying him as it is an order from Usui's family), Misaki finally understands Usui's purpose of doing so and kisses him, causing him to be a bit surprised, but he does keep his promise and tells her everything he knows about himself in chapter 46 of the manga. In chapter 72, Usui leaves for England to resolve his issue with the Walker family.

Background
He lives in a very expensive condo (some think an apartment), which has a sofa, pillow (maybe has a bed not shown), table, and a kitchen inside. He comes from a wealthy family and a very complicated life. He wears glasses at home and contacts at school. He does not have a very good relationship with his family. His mother, who was from England, passed away after giving birth to him. His mother originally had her own family, but she loved travelling to other countries even though she already had a child. Usui's father was originally one of the Walker family's butlers. Usui's mother fell in love with him when she was already married and already had a son, Usui was concieved after his mother was diagnosed with a disease that would ultimately end her life. She decided that she 'wanted to hold that beloved man's child with these hands]. Embarrassed by Usui's mother's affair with his father, his English family concealed his existence and he was raised in secret as the adoptive son of his mother's cousin in Japan. At first he was homeschooled, because if he went to school his family background might be discovered. His family decided to raise him to a particular, unspecified age and then sever all connections with him and send him out to live on his own. Instead of risking allowing him to get a job, they sent him to high school, and he chose Seika randomly from a book. He moved out and lived alone in his condo until the age of seventeen. Now that his brother Gerard has health problems, Usui's family has started to worry as Gerard is supposed to be the next inheritor of their wealth. So they began to search for Usui to put him under their control (they asked him to transfer to Miyabigaoka) so that they would have another inheritor in case something happens to Gerard. In order to maintain his relationship with Misaki and also Misaki's safety, as she was being targeted by his family as well to force him to break his relationship with her, he agreed.Later on Usui found out that his father was a butler from the Walker Family.
He falls in love with her very early in the story and often flirts with her and teases her. At the start of Manga/Anime Misaki disliked all men, But that didn't stop her from letting Usui into her heart. They are currently boyfriend-girlfriend now , although their relationship is still somewhat the same. She still refers to him as "her stalker" or "Perverted Alien"
Usui is only open about himself to Misaki and loves her immensely. He always saves her from trouble and gets very frustrated when she puts herself in danger.
Shintani is Usui's main rival and the only one he takes seriously, and they are usually represented as two dogs growling at each other whenever they are battling for Misaki. Usui often gets jealous of Shintani when Misaki is with him or Misaki is paying more attention to Shintani than to him. When these situations happen, Usui sometimes pulls Shintani away from Misaki, and when Shintani gets too close he often likes to remind him that Misaki is his.
Shouichirou Yukimura
Yukimura is the vice president of the student council at Seika. Misaki describes Yukimura's relationship with Usui as being "more like a pet". Usui frequently sexually harrasses Yukimura for fun and to get attention from Misaki, although the first time he did this was to convince Misaki that he was not serious about her so that she would not feel embarrassed around him.
Gerard Walker
Gerard is Usui's older English half-brother (they share the same mother), who first makes his appearance at the end of chapter 50. He and Usui look almost identical, except that Gerard's hair is straight and black. When he wore a blond wig, most people around him thought that he was Usui, although Misaki was not fooled. Gerard is an active part of the Walker family's plan to control Usui, and helps in the tracking of Usui and the plan for his transferration to Miyabigaoka. His Japanese is fluent, although he and Usui usually converse in English. Usui and Gerard's relationship does not seem to be very good, which might possibly be because of Gerard's interference with Usui's life and relationship with Misaki.
